The Monarch Collection began with the original acryla gouache painting, The Monarch painted in November 2021. A play on words, the painting depicted a queen surrounded by the iconic monarch butterfly. I’ve always loved butterflies and have been more inspired to paint them since their numbers have begun to dwindle in the past few years.

I decided to create a collection of stationery using monarchs, branching into magnets, bookmarks, stickers, post-its, and eventually the foiled typography print, Pretty But Poison. I also made a series of digital wallpapers to add to the collection.
