I painted this piece following the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court in June 2022. There was a lot of discourse after the ruling about the harrowing tales of people needing emergency abortions after a failed pregnancy. And while I still believe those stories are heartbreaking and an important part of the issue, I also wanted to express how a person with a uterus should not need a life or death situation to make decisions about what happens to their body if they are mentally able to.

I later created a print and vinyl sticker of the completed painting. For each of these items that sell, I donate $1 to the National Network of Abortion Funds.
